Of all the stories in Samantha Glen's "Best Friends," the story of Rhonda and Amra was my favorite. And of all the dogs, the one I wished most that I could have met was Rhonda. I was just re-reading the other day about her happiness with Amra and Sharyn -- and darn it, it had me in tears again.

Thanks Headingwest. I think it was Jove. I met the Colonel once. I don't think he was too impressed. But he definitely had a presence. I remember the tours used to stop at The Colonel's and we would all gather around outside the screen as Bob (his caregiver) would tell the "Colonel's saga". The Colonel would just sit there looking regal, even with that tattered ear of his.

I think the Colonel's girlfriend was named Jove. Everyone needs a little Jove in your life. I was'nt lucky enough to meet The Colonel.

And you didn't mention that The Colonel was quite the ladies man as well. Mark, didn't he have a special girlfriend who crossed before him? I think they are buried together now. I can't recall her name.

What year did the Colonel die? I remember seeing him my first trip to Best Friends but I believe he died not too long afterwards.

I don't believe so. Quite a few areas do now. The Lodges, Conrad & Leopold's, Amra's & Rhonda's, The Garden, The Fairway, Old Friends and Peach & Daisy's are all kept pretty current.
