House parties typically occur in the host's home. However, some hosts opt to use other places for their parties, such as restaurants, community centers, parks, cafes and bars.
You have total control over your party costs. If you want to make sure your event stays within budget, have a pot-luck or solicit food donations from local restaurants or stores. If you would like to make your event more upscale, serve wine (suggestion: Vicktory Dog Wine) and delicious food to your guests. Remember, this is your party; you can design it to fit your budget.
You bet we do! Check out our House Party website add link for lots of cool party themes like “Party Animal!” and “Kitty Karaoke.” We’ve even provided recipes for noshes and cocktails!
Your House Party Kit will include everything you need to make this aspect of hosting a party super-easy. We’ll include two DVDs – one is an introduction to Best Friends and one is a slide show. All you need to do is pop them in your player and let the good works of Best Friends speak for itself. When people, especially animal people, hear about the sanctuary and the programs to benefit animals everywhere, they can’t help but want to be a part of it.
No. Invite 5 guests or 50 – whatever you’re comfortable with and can accommodate. But we do offer a little incentive gift: If you recruit at least 25 members, we’ll send you a set of sterling-silver Best Friends 25th anniversary wine charms, the perfect blend of fashion and compassion. Offered by Charity Charms, each set has four charms designed exclusively for Best Friends. But whether you recruit 25 members or 2, we’re grateful for every single one.
All checks should be made payable to Best Friends Animal Society.
Yes. Simply send the information requested on the form to houseparties@bestfriends.org. Our House Party program coordinator will get you registered and make sure your House Party Kit arrives in time for your event.
We ask that you give us 10 business days of advance notice to ensure that your kit arrives in time for your event.
No problem! But please do let us know so we can make the change on our end.
We’d love that! We want to hear about all the fun you and your friends had at your party, as well as how many new members you recruited. Photos are always good, too. You never know: You and your friends could be featured in one of the House Party stories on our website or in Best Friends magazine.
When you register for a House Party, it’s noted in our membership database. Any new membership forms that come to us will have your name on them and will be tied to your membership record. We run regular reports that tell us how many new members each House Party host has brought to Best Friends.
